Photos and video clips showed a lecturer putting a student in a chokehold when he and six others, including Mr Netiwit, walked out of the ceremony. Mr Netiwit also claimed the student was physically assaulted. Bancha Chalapirom, deputy rector of the university in charge of student activity affairs, issued a statement denying the allegations. "This made staff overseeing the ceremony come out and pull them aside; it looks like an assault, it wasn't. Mr Netiwit responded in his Facebook page that the deputy rector "did not tell the truth".
